LADY ANNE HAYTER

We were saddened to hear of the recent death of Lady Anne Hayter MBE who died peacefully at home at the end of October, aged 95.

Lady Anne was much loved and valued by everyone who came into contact with her. She was the inspiration behind the creation of the hostel and worked tirelessly with Graham Peddie MBE to bring the hostel about in 1977. She was a founder member of the Board of Trustees and an enthusiastic volunteer, making soup and producing the first newsletters.

I have fond memories of working shifts, with Anne at the kitchen sink and sharing a platform with her to promote the work of the hostel.

We thank God for her.
